ADULT TRAINING PROGRAMME
On-Site Bristol is currently redeveloping its adult training provision, building upon the experience of delivering a programme for Jobcentre Plus and piloting a new approach as part of the West at Work initiative.
The new programme will be aimed at enabling unemployed adults, with little or no skills or experience in construction work, to obtain a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card, find work and develop their workplace skills.
The programme will also be able to help adults who have some knowledge of construction, perhaps through further education, but need site experience to get a CSCS card, employment and/or an NVQ.
All members of the On-Site Bristol Partnership will be actively involved in the delivery of the programme, led by Jobcentre Plus.
The programme will include training in health and safety, basic skills and employability as well as vocational skills. Full details will be available shortly, but in the meantime you can contact Anne Day on 0117-353-3482, or e-mail anne.day@bristol.gov.uk for more information.
An Evaluation Report of the previous adult training programme run by On Site Bristol, supported by Jobcentre Plus and the European Social Fund under ESF co-financing, is attached. For more details of this programme, which ran from July 2005 to March 2007, please contact Anne Day
