FRAMEWORK & QUALIFICATIONS
Apprentices work towards a number of qualifications, called a “Framework”, usually including an NVQ Level 2, a diploma, at least two Key Skills and Employment Rights & Responsibilities. Some frameworks also have additional skills tests.
The Apprenticeship Framework for Bricklaying has the following qualifications
- NVQ Diploma level 2 Trowel Occupations
- Diploma in Bricklaying Level 2
- Key Skill Level 1 Application of Number and Communication (Maths & English)
- Employment Responsibilities & Rights
- CSCS Health & Safety Test
- Abrasive Wheels
The Qualifications you will undertake for an Apprenticeship are:
NVQ Diploma Level 2 Trowel Occupations (on the job qualification)
Diploma Level 2 in Bricklaying (College qualification, see page 8 for areas covered)
- ConstructionSkills Health & Safety Test
- Abrasive Wheels (ConstructionSkills approved)

The Advanced Apprenticeship Framework for Bricklaying has the following qualifications –
