Apprentices work towards a number of qualifications, called a “Framework”, usually including an NVQ Level 2, a diploma, at least two Key Skills and Employment Rights & Responsibilities. Some frameworks also have additional skills tests.

The Apprenticeship Framework for Carpentry & Joinery has the following qualifications

  • NVQ Diploma level 2 Wood Occupations (Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery)
  • Diploma in Site Carpentry or Bench Joinery Level 2
  • Key Skill Level 1 Application of Number and Communication (Maths & English)
  • Employment Responsibilities and Rights
  • CSCS Health & Safety Test

The Qualifications you will undertake for an Apprenticeship are:

NVQ Diploma Level 2 Wood Occupations Site Carpentry(on the job qualification) or NVQ Diploma Level 2 Wood Occupations Bench Joinery(on the job qualification)

Diploma Level 3 in Site Carpentry (College qualifications) or Diploma Level 3 in Site Carpentry (College qualifications)
