BRICKWORK
Apprenticeships and Advanced Apprenticeships in Brickwork are provided by On Site Bristol in partnership with City of Bristol College, with all apprentices attending the Ashley Down Centre.
Apprenticeships last for two years. In year one, your Apprentice will attend college for two days each week. In year two they will attend one day a week. Your apprentice will gain six main qualifications as part of the Apprenticeship Framework –
- City & Guilds NVQ 2 in Trowel Occupations – Bricklayer
- Intermediate Construction Award – Bricklaying
- Communication Level 1
- Application of Numbers Level 1
- ConstructionSkills Health & Safety Test
- Abrasive Wheels
Your apprentice will also be taught about employment responsibilities and rights.
At the end of year two, providing your apprentice has completed all of the qualifications in their framework and have the ability, they may move on to an Advanced Apprenticeship. This will mean your apprentice will continue to attend City of Bristol College on day release for another year.
At the end of the Advanced Apprenticeship Framework your apprentice will hold the following qualifications:
- City & Guilds NVQ 3 in Trowel Occupations – Bricklayer
- Advanced Construction Award – Bricklaying
- Communication Level 2
- Application of Numbers level 2
