WHAT IS ON-SITE BRISTOL?
The On-Site Bristol Partnership is an initiative started by Bristol City Council in 1997, along with Jobcentre Plus, ConstructionSkills, City of Bristol College and the local Learning Skills Council. Its aim is to enable local residents to access sustainable employment in construction, closely linked to the physical regeneration and development of the City.
The Partnership employs a team of eleven staff, who work closely with the member organisations and others to deliver three main programmes helping local people access employment and training in construction and building services. These programmes – Apprenticeships, Job Matching and Adult Training – are described in the sections listed to the left; click on the headings for details.
Bristol City Council acts as the lead partner and accountable body for the On-Site Bristol Partnership. Within the city council’s organisation structure, On-Site Bristol is part of the Economic Regeneration team in the Regeneration Division of the Chief Executive’s Department. As such, it has an important role to play as a delivery agent contributing to the city council’s economic regeneration strategy, and the Community Strategy of The Bristol Partnership.
On-Site Bristol participates in and contributes to a number of local partnerships and networks, including
- West at Work
- Constructive West of England
- Constructing Excellence South West
- Western Training Providers Network
