On-Site Bristol is often the first place that construction employers call when they are looking to recruit.

This may be a result of a “local labour clause” in agreements with developers or other companies, or because they have used our fast, friendly and free service before. But, for whatever reason, it does mean that On-Site Bristol can help construction workers moving from one job to another.

This service was well used by employers and contractors working on the first phases of the Harbourside and Temple Quay developments, and we are now working with the developers of the next phases and the Broadmead expansion.

If you are unemployed and seeking work in construction, call Leon Fisher on 0117-927-9867, or call in to see him at 21 Penn Street, Broadmead, to get you and your skills on the Skills Register.

This Skills Register enables us to match your skills with those in demand by employers and contractors, finding you the right job quickly and efficiently.

As with our apprenticeship programme, additional support is offered to groups of people under-represented in construction jobs – including women, disabled people, ethnic minorities and residents of Bristol’s regeneration areas.

Our representative at Shop 4 Jobs can also give information and advice on training opportunities in the city, if you need to update or add to your skills, and he can also advise you on obtaining the all important CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Card.

The vacancy service and skills register is managed by On-Site Bristol in partnership with Jobcentre Plus, is based at 21 Penn Street, Broadmead (along with the Shop for Jobs and Bristol Alliance Information Centre) and is supported by the resources of Jobcentre Plus offices throughout the city.
